T7.1 Analysis: Identification of the suitable methodology for the creation of the Digital Terrain Model, in conjunction with the scale, the extent of the area and the expected utilization for portrayal and analysis. Analysis of the alternative views, which can be derived from, the DTM, based on the users need and the expected performance of the system.
T7.2 Design: Development of the design specifications for the cartographic portrayal of the terrain [shading, hypsometric tints, surface properties] in relation with the integration of thematic overlays and the adopted 3D visualization alternatives.
T7.3 Implementation: Creation of the DTM and implementation of the specified visualization functions and portrayal procedures. Development of an efficient ray-tracing algorithm for the visualization of natural surfaces.
